GREAT PLACE TO WORK AND EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT TECHNIQUES

It is important to make the workplace a favorable place to be employed. Especially at present, most younger employees rely on satisfaction and growth rather than salaries when selecting a workplace (Parwoto et al., 2021) There is also a certification that the companies achieve for being a great place to work.


What are the employee engagement techniques that will make your workplace great?

Employee engagement can be known as the level of involvement of the employees their emotional connection to the place they work (Anderson, Caldwell, & Runic Ristic, 2021)r. It is the willingness to work to achieve the company's goals and objectives rather than working just to get a salary. 

Sustaining and promoting company values.

When a company has a realistic and great set of values, the employees feel the need to support the company to achieve these (Krishnamoorthy et al., 2021).  

Providing opportunities for growth

Creating career paths and giving opportunities to the employees is another method to promote employee engagement. Once the company recruits an employee, he must be given a clear career ladder that he could climb within the company. When a position is vacant, a company should try to recruit someone internally rather than looking for external talent. It will motivate the employees to work better (Sunaryo et al., 2020). 

Recognition and rewards schemes

Recognition also plays a vital role in engagement. When the top employees are recognized by the company and peers, the feeling of appreciation will motivate them further (Khailasapathy et al., 2020).  

Appreciating the opinions of employees.

When an employee tries to share their ideas and opinions, it shouldn't be ignored despite the position (Parwoto et al,.2021). If the employee feels unappreciated, and will not share their opinions in the future which will create a disengagement. 

Be transparent

If the employees do not know the complete goals of the company, they will only work to achieve the goals to an extent. If the employees feel like they are being left out deliberately, it will create distrust and dissatisfaction with the management (Chandani et al.,2016).

When the above techniques are implemented by a company, it will automatically become a great place to work. This is very important in this day and age as millennials are looking for workplaces with a great atmosphere. And when employees are satisfied, they tend to perform better. As a result, the profitability, stability, and productivity of the company increase.

These are some of the Sri Lankan companies that got recognized as a great place to work in 2021 thus achieving global recognition.

Conclusion
The rewards for being a best place to work first materialize internally. A strong, collegial atmosphere allows your team, and your company, to overcome obstacles and to truly flourish. Overtime, your company can gain recognition from customers, competitors and the community. The power of the spotlight is undeniable.
